A new ambassador programme to enhance the learning experience of Eryri’s Special Qualities
Llysgennad Eryri has been developed for the local tourism industry, but offers high quality training to anyone who wishes to learn more about what makes Eryri exceptional. From our historic landscapes to the vibrancy of the Welsh language the on-line training programme will offer something for everyone. The aim is for the information to be shared widely, encouraging a fuller understanding of the entire area.
The Snowdonia National Park Authority has worked in partnership with other local authorities as part of the North Wales Ambassador Scheme, including Denbighshire Council, Conwy County Borough Council, Flintshire Council and Gwynedd Council. All authorities will have their own specific schemes whilst being co-promoted to reach a maximum audience.
Under the North Wales Ambassador Scheme banner, the Llysgennad Eryri Ambassador programme includes 12 online training modules that reflect the Park’s Special Qualities. The modules vary from original work to factual content, much of which has been contributed by local experts across the region.
The launch included an exclusive premiere of a special production reflecting one of the Special Qualities ‘Inspiration for the Arts’ by the singer songwriter Casi and the animator, Lleucu Non.
Casi said:
“It’s an honour to present an original piece to celebrate the launch of the Llysgennad Eryri scheme. Our aim is to capture the essence and beauty of the special area through images and music that has inspired us so strongly through its culture and landscapes. It felt natural to work with an animator from Dyffryn Nantlle, Lleucu Non, to create something that allows us to share the spirit of Eryri with the rest of the world”.
Catrin Glyn, SNPA’s Snowdon Partnership Officer said:
“We would like to thank everyone who has contributed towards these exciting modules. We have been truly honoured that so many authors, bards and artists who are influenced by Eryri’s Special Qualities, were so happy to collaborate with us.”
A bronze, silver and gold accreditation will be awarded to businesses dependent on how many modules are completed.
